Microlit drives ‘Genvision 2018’ at IIT-Bombay

The Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) -Bombay hosts its technical fest- Genvision in the first quarter of every year to showcase the latest developments in the field of Biosciences and Bioengineering as well as to create and instil an exciting environment in the field for the students by bringing in eminent guests and speakers for the different events in the fest.
This year, the event took place on March 24th, 2018 and we are extremely honoured to inform that Microlit had the opportunity to drive this fest as the Major Sponsor for the fest. This mega event saw scholars from more than 15 different colleges taking part. The guest of honour for the occasion was Dr. Shekhar C. Mande, Director- National Centre for Cell Science, Pune. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Rinti Banerjee, HoD- Biosciences and Bioengineering. A host of activities such as quizzes, extempores, poster presentations and debate competitions were organized in the complete span of the fest.
A booth was set up by Microlit to showcase and exhibit the various innovative and patented products manufactured by Microlit.
Mr. Aviral Jain, Global Marketing Head- Microlit was also present during the event. He was invited by the Symbiotek Council to conduct an ‘Industrial Talk’. Prof. Prasenjit Bhaumik, Faculty Advisor-IIT Bombay welcomed Mr. Aviral by presenting him a memento and bouquet.
Mr. Aviral Jain in his speech provided an insight on ‘Innovations & Research in Liquid Handling Systems’. He along with the faculty of IIT-Bombay, also visited the laboratories of Biosciences and Bioengineering department.
The Industrial Talk that Mr Aviral Jain gave was majorly focused on liquid handling in the laboratories. Accuracy and precision is very paramount in any scientific research, especially when the research is being carried out at microscopic level.
With this thought, Mr Aviral provided the audience an insight of the errors that can occur while carrying experiments in a laboratory. He emphasized on how an infinitesimal change in value can lead to substantial errors. He also explained how his organization – Microlit- with the help of its products- aims to reduce the accuracy and errors in the field of liquid handling industry. He mentioned that the innovative products designed and manufactured by his team are not only unique in technology but also provide highly accurate and precise results. He concluded by sharing with the audience, the recognitions and patents his products have received so far. “We are learning and will continue to learn till we give the best possible user experience to our clients”, said Mr. Aviral.
As a sponsor of the fest, Microlit presented exciting prizes like Lilpets to the runners-up of the quizzes.
A lucky draw event was also held. The winners of the lucky draw event were presented with personalised Lilpets with their names on it.
The event not only provided an opportunity to the students to prove their mettle in different competitions but also gave them a chance to learn more and stay updated about the industry at large.
