Team Microlit: Mr Satya, it’s a pleasure to converse with you today. Please tell us about your role at the CGWB, Hyderabad.
Mr Satya Kumar: Sure, thank you so much. So, I’m currently working as a Scientist B in the Water Resources department at the CGWB, Hyderabad.
Team Microlit: How long have you been associated with Microlit? Which Microlit products do you use?
Mr Satya Kumar: We have been using Microlit products for the past 2 years. We mainly use the E-Burette and the EasyFill from your product range.
Team Microlit: What processes do you carry out with the Microlit E-Burette?
Mr Satya Kumar: We use the Microlit E-Burette for water testing/analysing the total hardness of water. This is done by the volumetric titration method, under which we check the volume of calcium, magnesium and chloride ions present in water.
Team Microlit: How often do you use the Microlit E-Burette?
Mr Satya Kumar: We use it quite frequently, at least 4 days a week.
Team Microlit: That’s great! And which instrument were you using for titration before the E-Burette?
Mr Satya Kumar: Before this, we were using the conventional glass burettes.
Team Microlit: Compared to the glass burette, has the E-Burette helped in overcoming any challenges faced during the titration experiments?
Mr Satya Kumar: Yes, certainly. The filling process has been made easier by the E-Burette. In a glass burette, the readings are taken by seeing the meniscus level while in the E-Burette readings are clearly displayed on an LED screen. This has reduced the chances of parallax error.The readings are saved electronically in an E-Burette. This has saved our time & effort and reduced the incidence of manual error.The feature to transfer the readings to a computer simultaneously is also helpful. We can now do the calculations from the saved readings at a later time as per our schedule.
Team Microlit: How was your experience with the Microlit E-Burette? Any features that stand out for you?
Mr Satya Kumar: The Microlit E-Burette has helped save crucial time in the lab. Unlike the glass burettes where the filling process is an arduous task, the E-Burette can be filled easily in seconds by its one-touch filling operation. Other than this, the different speed modes offered by the E-Burette, especially the fast and medium ones have been quite useful for us.
Team Microlit: How has your overall experience been with the Microlit instruments?
Mr Satya Kumar: Our experience with Microlit products has been very good, and we are completely satisfied with their performance.
